Girls Trip has arrived in theaters. The Universal comedy has an all-star female cast that has a great chemistry, with Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Kate Walsh and Jada Pinkett Smith. It also features some good-looking men, Larenz Tate, Kofi Siriboe and Mike Colbert.
The story centers on a trip four life-long friends take the Essence Festival in New Orleans. As the women re-kindle their friendships, they find themselves going overload with fun, drinking, dancing, brawling and romancing in the Big Easy. Tiffany Haddish is a scene stealer in the flick and will make you laugh yourself to tears.
Girls Trip was produced by Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man franchises, Almost Christmas) and directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut). Kenya Barris (creator of ABC’s Black-ish) and Tracy Oliver wrote the screenplay. Girls Trip was executive produced by Preston Holmes and James Lopez.
Although Girls Trip is rated “R,” mostly for language, the movie makes a perfect movie for ladies to go in groups to see. It also makes good first date movie. Go see it, but careful you might laugh until your sides hurt.
